Home Authentication Review of Rejection
At the present time, paintings, drawings, sculptures and other works of art are being rejected in record numbers – without explanation, and frequently by people who are not qualified to either authenticate or reject an artwork.
Naturally, this is extremely frustrating for the owners of these artworks as it results in tremendous financial losses. Countless families own authentic works of art that have been passed down for several generations. These artworks either have never been exhibited or have not been displayed for extended periods of time, and therefore, have not passed through art galleries or auctioneers for over half a century or a century, and as a consequence, are essentially unknown today. Wars and a variety of other turbulent events, particularly since 1860, have caused masses of people to move, flee, migrate, escape, and, in the process, papers and documents have been lost, and history, names and dates have been forgotten. Oftentimes artworks are rejected without thorough investigations to ascertain whether they are indeed authentic. These rejected artworks have not been analyzed, researched or tested, rendering these rejections frivolous and frequently dishonest. Our professional experts make it a point to examine works that have been rejected with as much care and effort as any other artwork.
If your piece of art has been rejected, but you have reason to believe it is probably authentic, we encourage you to submit it for review.
