Thermoluminescence is a scientific process for dating ceramics and anything made of clay that was fired.

Thermoluminescence provides the last date of firing and of course generally there was only one firing unless the piece was caught in a fire or volcano explosion.

In addition to antiques and antiquities many artists produced ceramic pieces. Luca della Robbia, Picasso, Miro, Dali, Suetin are some of them.

All that is required for thermoluminescent dating is a small ceramic sample.
